This morning we had one of the hunters take his very first elk. New to hunting and going after elk during the rut can be a challenging hunt. After several close calls he finally got a bull at 20 yards and made it happen. Congratulations!
The last 24 hours have been off and on rain with switching winds. Making it tough to go after elk and get close. One of the other hunters had some bulls bugling with one that come in from behind the caller but then the wind swirled and things got quite. After a bit they started bugling again but headed the other direction. We should have better weather for tomorrow and hoping to get into the elk again.
