Last week was warm and windy and despite hiking all over trying to get a elk we just didn't get it done. We had some really close calls with only the swirling winds keeping us from possile success. That's bowhunting elk in the Montana foothills and valleys where the winds swirl regularly. We saw a lot of elk and a few more strokes of luck and we would have probably got one. The deer hunter saw a few bucks he would have shot but no luck getting them in bow range. The weather is extremely warm for this time of year and usuallay long in length. We get some warm days every now and then and some years it's single digits with snow already which really turns the activity up. No luck this year as we start another week of deer hunters with expected highs of 75-85 degrees all week....ouch. Attached are some wildlife photos.
